We are looking for motivated visiting students and scholars to join the Center for Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction at the School of Psychology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Core Research Directions:
  • Human-Machine Empathy – Developing AI systems that can understand and respond to human emotions empathetically
  • Trustworthy Affective Computing – Building reliable, ethical, and psychologically-consistent emotion AI
  • Multimodal Large Language Models for Emotion – Advancing emotion understanding through MLLMs

Preferred Research Experience

Candidates with research experience in the following areas will be given priority:

  • Large Language Models (LLMs) and Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs)
  • Micro-gesture and Micro-expression Analysis
  • Facial Action Unit Detection
  • Remote Physiological Measurement
  • Multimodal Emotion Understanding
  • AI Ethics and Psychological Consistency

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program
  • Strong background in related fields
  • Programming experience
  • Self-motivated and passionate about research
